We are surrounded by café's and fast food restaurants that offer us a variety of tasty meals that are prepared really quickly. But with that come the added fats, salts, and sugars to give the meal its overwhelmingly delicious flavors. Burgers are doused with sauces, drinks are arranged with sugar, and chips are overly salted. With such delicious yet bad food options available to us, is it possible to stay healthy in this day and age?
For some it may be a challenge because there are more unhealthy options available than healthy ones. Around every corner there is a burger place or a pizza parlor. You get more meal for your buck and for people who live on a tight budget this might be the only type of food that they can afford. It is ironic because you would think that the natural option would cost less and the processed option, which is man-made, would cost more. However, the opposite is true and these results in an unhealthier nation because it is price that is considered over health.
There are ways to stay healthy and save money, but that means you might need to do it yourself. For example, you could invest in catering equipment that makes healthy options. You could get your own juice extractor and make 100% fruit juice in your own home. Or you could look for a blender that can blend fruit to make delicious smoothies. You could make a batch of smoothies and freeze it. Each day you can take one cup out of the fridge and take it with you to work. It is a great alternative to the sugary gas drinks plus it is filled with vitamins.
